This 22nd edition of Rorschachiana continues the trend of the previous volumes, providing an update on current uses of the instrument in different countries and areas, and highlighting the most recent results of research and theory on projective techniques. This book provides a unique behind-the-scenes look at the world of Rorschach: surveys of the most recent clinical research results, discussions of its usefulness with regard to specific medical and psychological disorders, as well as new insights from well seasoned practitioners.

As a result, this highly readable resource is engaging, very practical, and almost entertaining. It is helpful for experts, and especially interesting for those just learning the Rorschach technique, such as graduate students in clinical programs. Indeed, the diversity of opinions and results contained here makes a useful complement to the relatively technical discussions one usually finds.

"The list of contributors to Volumes 18–20 reads like a CONTAM of a "Who’s Who in Projectives" with the roster at the United Nations. There are contributions from Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Costa Rica, Finland, France, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Peru, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, the Ukraine, the United States, and Venezuela! Correspondence between Rorschach pen pals is facilitated by the inclusion of addresses of all first authors. At the risk of international conflict, it must be admitted that this review cannot do justice to every article contained within these three volumes.

"With a title that nearly says it all, "Speaking Rorschach: A Tower of Babel No Longer," Irving Weiner sets the tone for articles and volumes to follow. ...

"Readers of Rorschachiana are fortunate that Dr. Weiner "serves at the pleasure of the Board" (of the International Rorschach Society) with no term limits in sight. The editor promises to "focus on continuing to develop Rorschachiana as one of the leading sources of information on the Rorschach and other projective techniques." These volumes are a promise realized, a dream that now bears testimony. Supported by a prestigious, international editorial board (including Marvin Acklin and Al Finch from the Society for Personality Assessment), these volumes pulsate with the stimulation of diverse cultures and theoretical viewpoints. Although we live in acrimonious times, the pages of Rorschachiana have a truly eclectic, catholic spirit, where the case study stands proudly alongside empirical research studies and theoretical review articles; both idiographic and nomothetic points of view are valued. These volumes are "keepers," destined to serve as timeless containers of wisdom on the Rorschach and other projective techniques. Dr. Weiner, please allow me to score these three volumes of Rorschachiana:

"...I also encourage Society of Personality Assessment (SPA) members and Journal of Personality Assessment readers to identify with a grand and glorious tradition of psychic spelunking: Join the International Rorschach Society (where else does a $10.00 membership, along with SPA dues, yield a $38.00 hardback?), or attend the International Congress on the Rorschach and Projective Techniques..."
